Football: Sky want him Beck on box
SKY Sports are hoping to plunge back into the Spanish
football television market and secure rights to
David Beckham's games for Real Madrid.
The Beckham-factor is expected to increase the cost of
live Spanish football to British television by 500 per cent.
Sky have shown La Liga matches since 1996 for a knockdown
fee but will now have to shell out extra if they are to
bring Beckham back to UK screens.
But such is the confusion in Spain surrounding the
renegotiation of the way football television rights are
handled that Sky do not know who they have to submit their
bid to
