Mains Castle Mains Castle is a 15th century keep in East Kilbride It was built in 1450 and it is 3 storeys high with a turret and it sits in 3.6 acres of land once owned by Robert the Bruce . The wall are 10 feet thick . Mary Queen of Scots is supposed to have spent a night in the castle before the Battle of Langside . The keep has a Great Hall , Minstrels Gallery and a spiral staircase . In the 1970s it was derelict but it has been carefully restored and it is now completely refurbished in the medieval style . It was on the market for 2 years before being sold for £300,000 .
